"Our new leaderboards are part of our strategy to continuously create new innovative features on the PokerRoom.com site and to the game of poker to cater to both the novice and serious player that spend a significant time improving various aspects of their poker game, said Ted Nelson, Director of PokerRoom.com. "With the new tournament leaderboards, we are challenging poker tournament enthusiasts from all over the world and providing them with a forum to showcase their skills and status."
The PokerRoom.com Ace of Aces Leaderboard ranks players across twelve scheduled multi-table poker tournaments each month with a $5,000 first prize awarded to the top finisher on the leaderboard. The twelve $150+12 tournaments are standard stand-alone tournaments with the addition of the new scoring system exclusive to the twelve Ace of Aces tournaments. PokerRoom.com player participation in the leaderboard is free and automatic, and each month provides players with a new opportunity to win the $5,000 first prize. Lesser buy-in qualifiers are available. Players that perform exceptionally well will also have the opportunity to win a free trip and entrance into the World Series of Poker with Team PokerRoom.com.
For PokerRoom.com players who prefer a fast-paced, intense and instant reward opportunity, the Centurion Cup weekly leaderboard ranks players based on 10-table Sit & Go Tournaments (one hundred players in each) that will run 24 hours a day, seven days a week on PokerRoom.com. Similar to the Ace of Aces Leaderboard, each performance in the tournaments will be scored and ranked. The top three ranked players each week will win money from a bonus prize pool generated by a percentage of the fee paid by all entrants into Centurion Cup Tournaments. The top ten players will be invited into a special weekly winner-takes-all Coliseum Sit & Go Final in which the winner will take home the other half of the Bonus Prize Pool. By winning the Centurion Cup Leaderboard and the following Coliseum Final, a player will be crowned the PokerRoom.com Centurion Champion. The buy-in for the 10-table Centurion Tournaments will range from $5+0.75 to $20+3. All tournaments are stand-alone events featuring regular payouts.
With the launch of these two new tournament leaderboards and the recently developed Private Tournaments and Team Tournaments, PokerRoom.com continues to evolve into the leading online destination to play poker for fun, fame and profit.
